All-on-X Dental Implants at Livewell Dental

A full arch of permanent teeth in as few as four implants.

Precision-guided surgery for faster healing and lasting results.

You're Not Looking for Another Temporary Fix

Maybe it started with one tooth. Then a few more. Maybe you've been through rounds of crowns, bridges, or dentures that didn't hold up.
Maybe you've been told your teeth need to come out and you've been sitting on that news, not sure what to do next.

All-on-X replaces a full arch. Four to six implants, placed in one procedure, supporting a complete set of fixed teeth. Not removable. Not temporary.
It works where other options haven't. The angled implant placement uses available bone that traditional implants can't reach. Even patients told they "don't have enough bone" are often candidates.
You'll leave with teeth the same day. In most cases, provisional teeth are placed during surgery. No gap. No waiting months without a smile.

If patchwork fixes aren't cutting it anymore, this page covers how it works, who it's for, and what to expect.

What Are All-on-X Dental Implants?

An All-on-X implant works differently from a single implant. Instead of one post per tooth, four to six posts are placed at strategic angles across the arch. This helps distribute biting force across the arch and can improve contact with available bone.

What Makes Up an All-on-X Implant:

Post: the titanium root placed in the jawbone
Abutment: the connector between the post and the prosthetic arch
Prosthetic arch: a full set of fixed teeth, custom-designed to match your face and bite

Are You a Candidate for All-on-X?

You may be a candidate if you have:
Several missing or failing teeth:
All-on-X may be a good option when many teeth in one arch can no longer be restored predictably.
Loose or uncomfortable dentures:
If removable dentures shift, rub, or limit what you can eat, implant-supported teeth may offer more stability.
Advanced gum disease or bone loss:
Some patients with periodontal damage may benefit from a full-arch plan instead of continuing to repair individual teeth.
A desire for a stronger long-term solution:
‍All-on-X is designed for patients who want a more fixed, secure, and functional way to rebuild their smile.

Why patients choose Livewell:
Implants are planned around the final bridge
Your bite and facial support are considered early
Digital imaging helps guide safer planning
Temporary teeth are planned before surgery when possible
You get a clear roadmap before treatment begins

All-on-X, Done the Livewell Way

It's not just about placing implants. It's a process designed for lasting function, comfort, and confidence.
1
Discovery and Diagnosis
CBCT 3D scans map your bone density, nerve pathways, and sinus position. Intraoral scans capture your current bite. Dr. Kim reviews everything with you, including what needs to happen, why it is recommended, and what alternatives may be available.
2
Custom Treatment Plan
Implant positions are digitally planned for your specific jaw anatomy. Angle, depth, and bone engagement are mapped before surgery day. Your provisional teeth are fabricated in advance so they're ready when you are.
3
Guided Surgery + Same-Day Teeth
Failing teeth are removed. Implants are placed using computer-guided surgical protocols. In most cases, you leave the same day with a full set of provisional teeth.

You walk in without a functioning smile. You walk out with one.
4
Healing and Refinement
Over 3-6 months, your implants fuse with bone (osseointegration). Your provisionals function during this time. You eat with them, smile with them. If anything needs adjusting  (shape, shade, bite) this is when we fine-tune it.
5
Final Restoration
Your permanent prosthetic is milled from solid zirconia. Digitally designed, precision-fitted, permanently secured. With proper care and maintenance, zirconia restorations are designed to serve patients for many years.

One Clear Plan From Surgery to Final Smile

With All-on-X, the details matter. Implant position, bite, gum shape, facial support, and the final teeth all need to work together. When those steps are planned separately, small disconnects can affect comfort, function, and the final look of your smile.

At Livewell Dental, Dr. Chris guides the full process with the end result in mind. That means your surgical plan is connected to your temporary teeth, final restoration, and long-term maintenance from the beginning.

Fewer handoffs between providers
A treatment plan that connects surgery and restoration
Clearer communication at each step
A bite and smile design planned before treatment begins
More continuity from consultation to final teeth

How All-on-X Compares to Your Other Options

There is no one-size-fits-all answer for replacing missing teeth. Dentures, single implants, and All-on-X each solve different problems.

The Right Tools for Better Decisions and Better Comfort

Every tool we use has one job: better information before we start, better precision while we work, and support for smoother healing afterward.

CBCT 3D Imaging

Before any procedure, we take a cone beam CT scan that shows us your bone in three dimensions. We can see exactly where nerves run, where bone density is highest, and what the safest, most effective implant position looks like for your specific anatomy.

3D Printing & Guided Surgery

Using data from your 3D scan, we can design a surgical guide that helps control the planned angle and depth. This supports more precise placement than relying on feel alone.

CLEAN Implant System

We choose implant systems with strong quality standards and biocompatible surface design. What we place in your body matters, so we do not cut corners on implant selection.

PRF / PRP / CGF

We may use growth factors derived from a small sample of your own blood to support tissue healing after surgery. This technique can help support the body’s natural healing response around surgical sites.

Surgical Piezosurgery

An ultrasonic surgical tool that can help us work more precisely around delicate areas. In selected cases, it may reduce trauma to surrounding tissues compared with traditional instruments.

Modern sedation and comfort techniques

Comfort options help patients feel calmer and more prepared during implant treatment. We review your health history and choose the safest approach for your needs.

Ready to Stop Patching and Start Over?

All-on-X may give you a clearer long-term path forward. We will evaluate your bone, bite, health, and goals, then explain what is possible in plain terms.

What's the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-X?

All-on-4 uses exactly four implants to support a full arch of teeth. All-on-X means the number of implants is based on your bone, anatomy, bite, and restoration design. Some patients may need four implants, while others may benefit from five or six. The goal is to use the number that gives your restoration a stable foundation, not to force every patient into one formula.

How long does the procedure take?

Surgery day is often about 3 to 5 hours per arch. Many qualifying patients leave the same day with provisional teeth. The full process, from consultation to final restoration, often takes about 4 to 7 months, with most of that time dedicated to healing and integration.

Can I eat normally with All-on-X?

During the healing phase, you will need to follow a soft-food diet to protect the implants as they integrate with the bone. After the final restoration is placed, many patients can return to a much broader diet. Dr. Kim will explain what foods are safe at each stage and how to protect your restoration long term.

How long do All-on-X implants last?

The implants are designed as long-term supports, but their lifespan depends on bone health, gum health, bite forces, hygiene, and maintenance. The prosthetic arch may need repair, maintenance, or replacement over time depending on the material and daily wear. Regular checkups are important for protecting the result.

Does it hurt? What is recovery like?

All-on-X treatment is performed with local anesthesia, and sedation options may be available to help you stay comfortable. You should not feel the procedure itself, though soreness, swelling, and tenderness are normal during healing. Most patients return to light activity within a few days, depending on the complexity of their case and their overall health.

Can I get All-on-X if I have gum disease?

Active gum disease must be addressed before implant placement because infection around the gums and bone can increase the risk of implant complications. If gum disease is present, we treat it first or build gum treatment into the overall plan. In some cases, patients with significant periodontal disease may be better served by a full-arch solution than by continuing to repair individual teeth.

Am I too old for All-on-X?

Age is not a disqualifying factor. What matters is overall health, bone quality, and whether you are healthy enough for the surgical procedure. Many of our All-on-X patients are in their 60s, 70s, and 80s. A thorough evaluation looks at medications, medical history, and healing capacity to make sure the approach is appropriate for you specifically.
